How many farm animals can you see?

How many animals are in Mrs Pengelly’s farm

We counted the animals up altogether. What number did you get?

After that we sorted them into groups.

We had 3 pigs, 3 sheep and 3 cows.

We later made a farm using garden grass clippings and soil from the garden. Can you spot the animal that is not normally found on a farm 🦄.

Making 4 and rock painting

Making 4, rock painting and a treasure hunt.

On my family walks my children have collect a lot of pebbles. Today we painted them with some numbers.  My daughter enjoyed ordering the pebbles.

To extend the activity I asked to find the correct amounts.

The rest of the rocks I painted with fun designs and hid in the garden (could also be hidden in the house) The children then went on a rock treasure hunt. My daughter enjoyed finding the rocks. We also encouraged her to say where she had found them. On, under, next to, behind or under.

Fine motor activity

Fine motor activities are very important to help our children with detail and handwriting later on.
Today we used spaghetti to thread into a colander. We then tried different natural things we could poke in the holes. Daisies worked well, grass fell in and some sticks would fit and others where to wide or thick. So lots of talking about size and length. Thick, thin, long, short.

Here is ours in progress (Mrs Pengelly and daughter)
