Nursery Trip to Aldenham Country Park 22nd May

Today we visited the farm at Aldenham Country Park.  

The children in Nursery had great fun and enjoyed seeing many of the animals we had learnt about at school.  We also saw some new animals we had not seen before, such as alpacas and ferrets.

Can you talk about the animals you can see with your child.  Ask questions like the ones below:

What colour is it?

What size?  Was it a big or small animal? 

What covering do they have on their body? e.g. fur, feathers or skin

Do they have any special features? e.g. A chicken has a comb and wattle, a horse has a mane.

Do you know what sound this animal makes?

Do you know any facts about this animal? e.g. a pig lives in a sty

Outdoor Adventure

 Outdoor Adventure

This week children in Nursery enjoyed an Outdoor Adventure.  We learnt some special rules.

 "No pick, no lick" will teach us to not pick flowers or leaves.  We will remember not to put things in our mouth from outside.

"Be careful how you carry a stick" will keep us safe when we use twigs and sticks.

"Don't go in the circle" will remind us to stay safely outside the log circle.  One day we might have a campfire and we are learning to stay safe.

We listened to a story, sang songs, played hide and seek, planted seeds and explored the outdoor area.  We finished the session with a hot chocolate back in Nursery.  Enjoy the photos.
